It works in conjunction with the Connector 355.33, which provides a means to attach to the hook assembly and often to devices or handles capable of producing extraction force (pulling, torque, vibration, etc.). The hook has threads that engage the end of the nail; once threaded in, force is applied (via the connector and handles or extraction tower) to withdraw the nail from the medullary canal. Because it’s “threaded,” the user must match the hook’s thread form and size to the nail’s end or tapping (if present). Proper alignment and threading are critical — cross‑threading or misalignment could damage the nail’s end cap or the hook, making extraction more difficult.
